Place the cartridge inside the stamp with the ink-side down and push in until it clicks into place.

Before the first use, insure that the stamp is well inked by only pressing the stamp half-way down. Once the Stamp is inked, place the Stamp on a smooth, flat surface and push the stamp all the way down.
